flame: Take Control of BiLinear Offsets

1. Enter Action with your image as Back, Front with a white frame as matte.

2. Add a Bilinear Surface

3. Select the surface and enter the tracker in track mode

4. Place your trackers 1-4 where you want the offsets to appear

5. Set your duration to one frame

6. Analyze (make sure all trackers are active)

7. Save the setup as ‘temp’.

8. Exit Tracker

You should now see that your surface conformed the shape that you described with trackers 1-4.

9. In surface select track, but this time in offset mode.

10. Load the ‘temp’ setup and exit the tracker

You will now have a bilinear surface with it’s offsets moved to the new positions that you set. The image will be exactly the same as the original with no distortion. You are now free to work with your control points where you want them, which is epspecially valuable when you are working on a small are and are zoomed in. This is by far one of the best tricks that i use, it helps me out of many tricky situations.
