This is the 13th season I’ve partnered with fxphd to produce Resolve online training. Our new course for the release of version 16 is called Insider Techniques for the Pro Colorist. It looks at how you approach a color session, where you start the grade and what an experienced client expects from you. We’ll also fix bad camera problems causing shots in the sequence to not match as well as use twelve Resolve OFX Plugins to fix problems and add creativity. This course has many tips on how to make your way up the grading ladder including things such as how you should set up your room, monitor, control surface, and even insights on whether it is ok to work for free.
The Resolve Fundamentals and Advanced Resolve include two brand new V16 update classes covering new features which have been added to the software. The classes were originally recorded in V15, but are still 100% applicable to the new release. I have even recorded a new class using V16 for the Looks & Matching Masterclass course. If you previously purchased those courses, you’ll get the new classes for free on your downloads page!
Once you make your purchase, all class materials are available for immediate download. What sets our courses apart is that each and every course comes with at least 5GB of high resolution, high quality clips which you can use to follow along with Warren, perfect your skills, and build shots for your reel. The advanced course even includes over 20GB of additional material you can use for your reel. This is unlike any other offering available online.
Warren has been grading for over 3 decades. He started in photography before moving into London’s film cutting rooms, settling into the role of Colorist. Warren has extensive experience in all forms of grading, from Super 8 music videos to feature films. A Resolve user since 2005, he is proficient in both the software and what can be achieved creatively with it. Warren has his own DaVinci Resolve system in Australia and spends his time either grading or teaching International Colorist Academy classes.
