Dwarfing All That Came Before

[image title=”img_2306″ size=”medium” id=”566″ align=”none” linkto=”[site_url]/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/img_2306.jpg” ]We normally post fairly regularly on the Deans Blog but we have been under NDA for the last few months so it has been hard. The NDA was for our work on the new Mini-series Red Dwarf in the UK. fxphd was heavily involved with the upcoming specials. John and I were both on set, I was the vfx supervisor and 2nd unit director and a team of fxphd members worked on the show along with work we had done at FIN Design in Sydney. The project was really creatively and professional rewarding.

We joined the Dwarf team as part of a deal we signed that allowed us to use material in our courses, so once the new shows air April 10,11 and 12th we will be adding more information regarding the Dwarf production and post-production coursse to the fxphd line up. As the production shot on multiple RED ONE cameras – this was a perfect project for fxphd. It was also great to film on the Shepperton backlot and studios in the UK for several weeks – you have to love any place that has a road called Peter Sellers Way !
