One of the great things about running fxphd is meeting and working with a wide range of talent from around the world. But one thing I’m enjoying in Chicago this term is having two profs teaching courses that I have worked with over the years.The first is a good friend of mine, Liz Tate, who is an extremely talented editor I worked with for over a decade at Avenue Edit. Colorist Kelly Armstrong, teaching our new Apple Color course, is another friend and co-worker at Avenue I had fun working with in the past. They’re just two of the great profs we have in our new January term at the site….

Liz is teaching our new “Craft of Editing” course, which takes a look at the process of editing from an application agnostic perspective. I always enjoyed working with Liz on jobs at Avenue, as her willingness to collaborate creatively showed her confidence in her skills and a knowledge of the editing craft. Just like her prep on jobs for commercials, she’s a put a ton of effort into preparing her classes and they’ve been really well received by members.
