Professor Profile: Sheena Duggal

Visual effects supervisor Sheena Duggal is currently teaching fxphd’s VFX220 – Feature Film VFX Supervision, using her recent work on The Hunger Games as a case study for the course.

Duggal started out in the industry on early paint and compositing systems, assisting Discreet Logic with prototype Flint, Flame and Infernos. She worked at ILM as a Flame artist before helping to establish the high speed compositing department at Sony Pictures Imageworks. There Duggal contributed to films such as Contact, Superman Returns, Body of Lies and Spider-Man 3. Her most recent feature film VFX supervision credits are Sex and the City 2 and The Hunger Games.

Duggal will be among this year’s inductees to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences; in addition, she holds a BA (hons) in graphic design specializing in animation and lens media and is a published photographer working on behalf of the UK water charity Pump Aid.
