Scanline look via interlace

This one is pretty easy but some people find it useful. In case you don’t have a ScanLine type spark, I often take a white and black frame, insert them together, then interlace.

(The Interlace command uses one source clip – it takes the odd scanlines of frame #1 and interlaces it with the even scanlines of frame #2 – to produce a single frame)

This give you a frame where ever other line is white or black.

Take this into your comp as a matte with a black fill and rotate it 45 degrees. Gives you some pretty nice result.

Jeff Heusser adds:

Blending this with a Bicubic can also produce interesting moire patterns that can be used to enhance TV inserts.
Blow up the scan lines as desired (great use for source nodes) and use as a matte in the color corrector to give control over the scan lines.
