Easy way to keep the texture of the clothing but add believable blood stains.
- First go into paint and make a matte (white over black) of a shape of a possible blood stain.
- Then take the shot you wish to add blood to as the background, and take the same shot as foreground with the matte we created in paint.
- Next add a source node and separate matte.
- In schematic add another axis to the source node
- Take foreground image into color correct and convert entire image to blood red really focusing on making the area you wish to add the blood to the perfect shade.
- Take the source node axis (the top one) into tracker and track the matte so it follows action. Then, of course, adjust with bottom axis.
- Soften the matte a bit, play with the transparency, and you can get a realistic blood stain that follows action and retains the characteristics of the fabric or skin etc.
