[image title="tokyo" size="thumbnail" id="671" align="none" linkto="http://www.fxphd.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/tokyo.jpg" ]First classes start this week and if you haven’t had a chance to watch our orientation video filmed in Japan, be sure to download the movie and check out our new offerings this term.

These term switchovers are the busiest time of year at the fxphd — getting all the materials prepped, VPN software running (we have RenderMan this term), and more really takes a ton of effort. One thing that sometimes gets lost in the mix is some of our great repeat courses on offer — past favorites that we’re running again. Members who have been around for a while look forward to the new courses, but we have a lot of new members as well who haven’t seen some of our past faves. Here’s a sample of what we have this term:

• AFX207: After Effects from the Archives. A sampler of faves from past courses, including classes with UI animation designer Mark Coleran, who has created cool animations for films such as The Island and The Bourne Ultimatum
• RTO210: Secrets of Paint and Roto. From removing pesky crew members or production rigging in frame, Wes Ball focuses on the approaches and techniques of this invisible art using standard tool
• EDT201: The Craft of Editing. Editor Liz Tate investigate the theories and workflow of editing in the world of advertising post-production
• RED102: Comprehensive Guide to RED Workflow. If you ever have to deal with RED footage, this course is for you

We have a full slate of almost 40 courses this term. You can read all about them on our course information page.
